GIVING Compassion by Validating the Greatness You See in Others
To validate means to prove or confirm something or someone is correct or truthful.
Though we may come from different places with different upbringings, varying views, and diverse perspectives, one thing we all have in common is, we’re all human beings.
So, when someone validates our skills, talents, or what they value in us, we’re lifted up.
With validation:
-Our doubts, worries, fears, and even our anxieties start to diminish.
-We become more confident.
-We push forward toward pursuing our dreams.
-We realize our value, and we’re compelled to GIVE validation to others.
Here are three ways we can validate the greatness we see in others:
–Show them appreciation with a note, a card, an act of kindness, or meaningful conversation to let them know just how much you value them and what they GIVE to those around them.
–Follow in their lead. Sometimes in order to become a great leader, we have to learn how to be attentive followers. If someone you love and respect consistently acts, behaves, or GIVEs certain value to people, you can show them love by following their example. They will feel validated and compelled to keep being them, and you’ll feel validation in who you’re becoming as well.
–Share the story. Few things inspire us into changing behavior quite like real, authentic stories about ordinary people doing extraordinary things. You and I can validate the actions and special talents of other people by telling their story.
Have a great day, and never stop living, working, and loving from a place of GENEROSITY.
