Three Things Leaders Who Lead with Hospitality Do with Purpose

When we have a purpose, we know exactly who we are, where we’re going, and most importantly, we know why we’re doing what we’re doing.

This is a magical feeling – one of significance, driven by passion.  Remember, our goal, as leaders, is to connect with and inspire people to become their absolute best so they can deliver their absolute best for our organization.

When people find their purpose, they do not feel like they’ve arrived… as they belong right where they are, at that moment.  Purpose inspires people to:  lean into their passion, become intentional about every step they take and every decision they make.

As leaders leading with hospitality, remember our goal is to make people feel:

Welcome, Comfortable, and Important.

If we can create environments in which people find passion and purpose, they will deliver their best work, as they become the best version of themselves in the process.  That’s when seemingly menial jobs transform into meaningful work.

“Find a purpose in life so big it will challenge every capacity to be at your best.”

– David O. Mackey, American author

Three Things Leaders Leading With Hospitality Do With Purpose:

  • Discover our own purpose
  • Help others discover their purpose
  • Connect each individual person’s role to the overarching purpose of the organization

“Purpose is the reason you journey.  Passion is the fire that lights the way.”

We can discover your purpose in three questions and one statement:

  1. What are my strengths?
  2. What breaks my heart?
  3. Who do I want to help?
  4. My purpose is to give my (strengths) to help (whom) achieve (what)
